David Medvetz


David Medvetz founded the original construction company Blue Sky Services, Inc. in 1996, which has grown over the years into a consortium of industry-related companies under the Blue Sky Services brand. As President, David leads a coalition of Blue Sky affiliates that develop, build and conduct brokerage for some of the finest office complexes, retail centers, hotels and residential communities throughout North Carolina and beyond.


Originally from Pennsylvania, David is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing Management and Labor Economics, and a Masters of Business Administration. His extensive coursework in General Contracting, Materials and Labor Costing were cornerstones on which The Blue Sky Group of Companies was built. David is also a recognized world-class decathlete and ranked 6th in the United States and 33rd on the World List by Score in 1986.


As his primary role in the organization, David continues to serve as Managing Director of the Construction division of Blue Sky Services. Since 1996, David has completed several thousand construction projects worth well over $100 million. David continues to provide vision and leadership across all divisions of Blue Sky Services. 

Steve Niemeyer


Steve Niemeyer has over 30 years of general contracting and development experience, having completed over $500,000,000 in real estate projects. Steve’s background ranges from residential renovations and additions to building and developing some of the finest office complexes, retail centers, hotels and residential communities throughout North Carolina. Steve is also a general partner in several well-established development companies including Tri-Coast Properties, LLC and Commonwealth Commercial Properties, LLC, with expertise in leasing, sales, and property management.


Steve was educated at Appalachian State University and is a former 1st Vice President of the Wilmington-Cape Fear Home Builders Association, as well as, the Director of the Business Alliance for a Sound Economy (B.A.S.E.). 

Rebecca Olsen

Vice President - Finance

Rebecca Olsen joined the original Blue Sky Services Construction Company in 2002. She is a principal and GC License Holder for the Construction division and a founding partner of the Real Estate and Equity Divisions. She manages the Financial and Administrative operations for all affiliates under the Blue Sky Services Brand.


Rebecca is originally from Pennsylvania and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Consumer Affairs in 2000 from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She worked in the Pittsburgh corporate offices of PNC Bank for 2 years prior to joining the Blue Sky Services Team. 

Eric Bursky

Vice President - Construction

Eric Bursky has been with Blue Sky Services since 2002 and came a long way from starting as an estimator in the residential construction division of Blue Sky to now becoming a partner and the Senior Vice President of Blue Sky's Construction Division. Eric attended the Indiana University of Pennsylvania for Safety Science and also obtained a degree in Architectural Drafting and Design. He worked for Dachille Architects in Johnstown, PA and designed homes for a small firm in Lewistown, PA before relocating to Raleigh and joining Blue Sky Services. 

Rachel Frias

Vice President - Operations

Rachel Frias has been with Blue Sky Services for four years, having joined the Team in 2012. Currently she overseas company's administrative operations for all Blue Sky divisions. With over 15 years of customer service and office management experience, Rachel is an essential member of the Blue Sky Team. Rachel was born and raised on the U.S. Territory of Guam. After high school graduation, she moved to Orlando, Florida where she attended college and lived for 10 years. Pursuing other career opportunities, she relocated to Raleigh, her home for the past 6 years. Rachel enjoys spending time with her husband and dog, family and friends as well as traveling, hiking and reading.
